Many Everton fans on Twitter would like to see the club sign Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster, who is out of contract this summer.
The idea was put to fellow supporters of the Merseyside outfit by the Toffee TV Twitter account, and plenty of them made their feelings clear.
Indeed, current number one Jordan Pickford might be the first-choice option for his club and England right now, but he has been rightly called out for some mistakes in recent weeks.
For example, the former Sunderland stopper was stood behind his line when Newcastle United scored a dramatic late equaliser at Goodison Park last month, while it looked as though he could have done better to stop Christian Benteke’s effort for Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The latter was something that led the 25-year-old to speak out against the criticism he had received.
Pickford doesn’t seem to have the highest quality competition right now, with Jonas Lossl leaving for Huddersfield Town on loan during the January transfer window, while Maarten Stekelenburg hasn’t made a single Premier League appearance for Everton since the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Meanwhile, Foster has played every minute of the Hornets’ 26 Premier League matches this term, keeping eight clean sheets, and was even praised by Carlo Ancelotti for his performance for Birmingham in 2010 when the Italian was Chelsea manager.
One supporter suggested the 6 foot 4 man would be better than his fellow Englishman, while another simply said he “would be a fantastic signing”.
While some simply said they’d like Foster at Goodison, others believe that the experienced 36-year-old goalkeeper could act as a positive role model for Pickford.

With 352 top-flight appearances to his name, that seems like a pretty sensible idea, although it could depend on whether he is potentially ready to sit on the substitutes’ bench at this stage of his career.
