Los Angeles FC have strengthened their midfield with the addition of Brazilian veteran Jailson, who has signed through the 2025 season with club options for 2026 and 2027.

Jailson, 29, comes to MLS after spending last year in La Liga with Celta de Vigo, making 30 appearances across all competitions and contributing one goal and one assist. Over the course of his career, he has played 259 professional matches, recording nine goals and five assists.
The versatile midfielder began his career in Brazil, featuring for Chapecoense, Grêmio, and Palmeiras before moving abroad. He also had spells in Turkey with Fenerbahçe and in China with Dalian Pro.

LAFC Co-President and General Manager John Thorrington hailed Jailson's potential impact for the club.
“We are very pleased to bring Jailson to LAFC,” Thorrington said in a club release. “He’s a player with quality, experience, and professionalism, and we believe he will immediately contribute to our goals this season and beyond.”

His arrival comes just days after the team confirmed that fellow Brazilian midfielder Igor Jesus will miss the rest of the campaign with injury. With eight matches left in the regular season, LAFC are pushing for a top-four finish in the Western Conference for the fourth consecutive year.
